Hey! My name is Kelo.  I’m the sweetest 8 year old Shih Tzu you will ever meet.  I will bring hours of joy and comfort to you and your family.  I thrive in a calm environment.  My favorite thing is being with humans - so be ready for a second cute shadow! If you have stairs, don’t forget to bring me up or down with you. I love all humans I meet, but especially bonded with my foster mom.  Will you be my new bestie? If you are having a bad day, I will be there to cheer you up.  I love to cuddle up with you as you sit or nap on a soft spot near you. I will cuddle up anywhere there is a soft surface.  If you're particular about where I lie, just give me a soft dog pad or bed.  I’ll be respectful of your space and keep to my own! I even like going on errands with you.  I’ll curl up in the seat you put me in as you run through a drive through.  Don’t worry, I won’t mess with your food.  Give me forehead scratches to hear me make a cute happy noise. I like to explore the outdoors a bit. This can be a daily 15 minute around the block or just exploring your fenced yard.  I know how to walk on a leash.  I mostly just want to sniff around at a slow pace.  I have been well cared for and trained. I’m not a vocal dog, but will give you other cues to help you know what I need.  I’ll let you know I need to use the restroom by going to a door leading out doors.  Please pay attention to this cue. I’m not a young pup and can’t hold it for too long! I know to walk off any surfaces into the grass to use the restroom.  I try to be considerate of others who use the yard, and pick a spot to potty in every time.  I am crate trained.  If you let me, I also will happily stay in my bed at night as you sleep in the same room or within eyesight.  I am currently healing from some health concerns, so I am a bit picky about food.  This also means I have to try extra hard to go to the restroom. Just be patient with me.  I’ll let you know I’m ready to come back inside by sitting at the door.  My foster mom thinks, my hearing might be diminishing and I’m developing cataracts. This hasn’t stopped me from loving my life and loving you.  Help me out with these challenges by keeping a routine. If my food and water bowls are in the same place every day, I’ll know where to find them. I really stole my foster mom’s heart and will wiggle my way into yours in no time!
