A REAL STORY TO TELL. Mr. Bean is a three-year-old shepherd mix who, in a lot of ways, is still a puppy even though he weighs 42 pounds. Until very recently, this friendly, sweet-natured boy didn’t get the training or care he needed and deserved. He lived outside and was never house- or leash trained. His original owners had to relocate unexpectedly and were unable to take him with them. Mr. Bean really hit the jackpot with his temporary home. He’s learning about house training and walking on a leash, and he just loves his bed, treats and toys. Most of all, he loves sniffing around the backyard, getting petted and holding hands with his people. This family also took Mr. Bean to the vet for a long overdue checkup. Now he’s up to date on vaccinations and is on flea/tick prevention. Unfortunately, Mr. Bean is heartworm positive, and he has an injury to one of his rear legs that possibly will require surgery. He also needs to be neutered. His temporary guardians have two dogs of their own and cannot take on a third. They’ve already done so much, and they are willing to contribute more for Mr. Bean’s care, but what this sweet guy needs more than anything is a forever home with an individual, couple or family who will take responsibility for loving, training and caring for him. Although somewhat cautious at first with one of his foster brothers, Mr. Bean is comfortable with his fellow canines. Despite his lack of house training, he's learning and hasn’t had any accidents. If you are willing to help Mr. Bean on the road to recovery, please fill out an application online at . You won’t be alone. TDR will do everything we can to assist you, including rallying support for Mr. Bean’s medical care. Available through Tired Dog Rescue, Gulfport, MS.
