A BIG GUY WITH A BIG HEART. Don't let Chief's size put you off. He's a mild-mannered, loving dog who gets along with adults, children, his fellow canines, and even cats. This German Shepherd/Chow/Labrador mix is 2 years-old and weighs 90 pounds. He's neutered, house- and leash trained, microchipped and in good health. Chief's previous owners worked outside the home, so he's used to being on his own for several hours throughout the day. He doesn't cause mischief and doesn't need to be crated. He's just saving his energy for when his people come home. Chief would do very well with an active family who will make sure he gets plenty of playtime and exercise. It's best to feed Chief when the rest of the family has a meal, otherwise, he will be begging for treats from the table. He's also a counter surfer, so put that food up high. Chief has had two owners in his brief life whose personal situations prevented them from keeping such a large pup, so this sweet boy needs a family who will stick with him for the long haul. Available through Tired Dog Rescue, Gulfport, MS. Fee: $175. Apply at tireddogrescue.org

More about Chief

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Requires a yard

We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
