BABY BUTTERNUT  This Dachshund mix was born in mid-October and is off to a great start! Affectionately known as Butters, this little gal is winning the hearts of everyone she meets, but if you are interested in adopting her, keep in mind that she's a blank slate. She will require patient, consistent training and discipline to go along with all that love. Because of her age and the need for frequent "well puppy" visits to the vet, she needs a home in the Gulfport/Biloxi area. TDR also recommends that she not be in a home with very small children. Here's more about Butters: From the minute she wakes up, her tail is wagging. It doesn't matter if she's eating, meeting one of her foster family cats, playing with her many toys, getting to know her foster sister dog or sitting in her foster parents' laps, the tail is going. To say she's happy would be an understatement! Butters loves her people and will protest loudly when she's left behind. Fortunately, the protests don't last long, and she curls up with a blanket and toy. She sleeps in a crate at night and hangs out in a playpen when the humans aren't around. Butters lets her foster parents know when she needs to go out, and already knows what "nuh-uh" means. She's been hearing it a lot! Butters loves playing with toys, and the autumn leaves are a big thing in her life right now. And naps. Naps are good! At night she can sleep about three hours before she needs to go out for a potty break. The good news is that after a brief bit of fussing, she settles right back into a puppy coma. Butters is a tiny ball of energy that goes from 0 to 500 in a split second.
