LEARNING TO BE PART OF A FAMILY "Hi! My name is Lucy Lou. I'm a Jack Russell Terrier mix and was found in Gulfport. My previous owners did not have me microchipped and they did not find me at the veterinarian’s office. After several weeks of waiting, the nice people at the vet’s office contacted Tired Dog Rescue to see if they could find me a home. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was very skittish, and it would take some coaxing to get me out of my kennel to go for a walk. After being with my foster family for a while, now I love going for walks, chewing on Nylabones, and will even play fetch. I am housebroken, crate trained and am learning how to not chase the cats just because they happen to be running near me. Usually, I don't care what cats are doing but if they start to run, that's an invitation to play, right? (Maybe not.) I don't like cats or other dogs hanging around my kibble. I'm going through so many changes right now, I'm just not sure how I feel about other dogs. I haven't been the best girl to my foster siblings but that might change in time. I'm learning so much! My foster moms are teaching me how to be a good girl, and I'm catching on to this whole obedience thing. I hope you will give me a chance to charm you." More about Lucy Lou: 14.6 pounds, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, needs a harness for walking on the leash, spayed, is heartworm positive and requires an adoptive family from the Gulfport area so she can stay with her current vet. Available through Tired Dog Rescue, Gulfport, MS. Fee: $275. Apply at tireddogrescue.org.
Special Needs: Heartworm Positive
We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
