Hello!  My name is Max.  Max sounds like an average name for an average dog but I'm far from average.  Everyone that meets me falls in love with me.  My foster mom says I have charm, whatever that is.
A little about me- I am a year and a half old 50 pound mixed breed. I am neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and I am heartworm negative!  I am medium/large and weigh about 60 pounds.  I am completely housebroken, and my foster mom thinks it's pretty neat that I go outside and I don't need to mark every bush.  I just run out, potty once, and I'm done!  I guess most boys need to pee on everything?  
My hobbies include taking strolls outside with people, running and playing with my dog friends, and taking naps on cool tile floors.  I get along with cats, dogs, chickens, and even horses.  There's really nothing that I don't like.  I am good with children and all people.  My foster mom sometimes takes me to work with her and I love greeting every person that comes through the door.  People now get disappointed if my foster mom doesn't bring me with her.  I guess it's that charm she tells me about!
I have had a difficult start to my young life and was found with severe demodectic mange all over my body.  I was very sick but thankfully some very nice people took me in and helped me get healthy again.  Demodectic mange is hereditary and not contagious so no need to worry about that!  Due to the infection, I lost my left eye, but it will make you smile because I am always winking at you!  The charm!!
I am a young guy and love exercise.  I need a yard or someone that likes to take walks/runs/hikes. 
I love to travel and I think if I could come back as a human, I would be a long-distance truck driver and travel the country.  All the new places and people I could meet!!  Any truck drivers out there that want a friend?!  I'm your guy!
I can go in a crate overnight and sleep, but I really prefer to be out of the crate.  My foster mom leaves me loose in the house when she sleeps and leaves for the day and I do just fine.  I like to take my naps on the tile or a siesta on my blanket on the couch.  At night I like to sleep on my bed near my foster mom's bed.  I like to make sure my humans are safe all night.  I also like sleeping in with her on the weekends.  I won't make a sound until she's ready to get up!  Try finding that quality in another young dog!  Again...hitting you with the charm.
I would prefer to have another dog in the house as a companion.  I get along with all sizes of dogs!  I know my size and I'm very careful with the little pups but know how to play and run with the big friends too!  My foster mom has dogs of all sizes and I loves them all!  My best friend is a 9 pound dog and I am very gentle when I play with him!  
I am told I'm just the best boy.  I know how to sit, lay down, and walk VERY well on a leash.  I'm currently learning how to roll over....how cool is that?!  I am a young dog though, so I will need someone that is willing to continue training and working with me so I continue to be a good boy.  I love giving kisses, I LOVE getting belly rubs, and I will take naps with you whenever you like.  If you would like to lay down on the cold tile floor with me, that would be incredible!  I have been looking for my forever home for almost half of my life...would you be the one to give me the chance at loving you forever?  Please apply today! www.tireddogrescue.org Gulfport, MS
