LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY -
Well, hello there! My name is Rowan and I am a dashing 11 pound red/brown long haired chihuahua mix! I am neutered and up to date on all my shots. I am heartworm positive but I am young, vibrant, and ready to kick this disease's butt! I am looking for a calm home (at least for a few months), and a loving human to help me get through the process and love me forever!
A little about me...I am a very happy, zen, playful boy and would do good in a home with just about anyone. I love people and getting all the pets! I do well with other dogs that have my energy level. Sometimes I like to pester my senior foster siblings...I just want to play!
My foster mom says I have legs for days. I would love to find a home that eventually (after my treatment) will be able to take me on some fun adventures were I can stretch these bad boys out! Maybe some hikes? A dog friendly beach? I have never been able to really be a dog with my past and I can't wait to figure it all out with you!
I am good with my kennel. I might be a little fussy at first, but I calm down and relax after a few minutes. I am still working on my house training and doing really well as a long as I'm kept on a schedule. I also don't mind wearing belly bands, just as an extra precaution. No one ever taught me how to be a housedog before, but I love to learn!
I love, love, love, car rides and going on adventures. Watching the world go by is one of my favorite activities. I was saved from a shelter on my last day and I've really learned to appreciate every day, every butterfly, and every "good boy" phrase I can get. I almost lost that chance! I am so thankful my foster mom swooped in and saved me! Now I just need my forever person to complete my bucket list of happiness!
Please don't let the fact I'm heartworm positive sway you. The rescue works with an amazing vet who will go over the entire process with us both! They will help answer any questions you might have during the entire process, and they will take the best care of me! Just think of it as some downtime where we can bond, enjoy some serious binge tv watching on the couch together, and maybe we can learn a new trick or two! So many low energy activities we can do together!
Movie night? I'm your guy! I might fall asleep and burrow under the blanket within ten minutes, but I promise to give you my undivided cuddle attention until the movie ends! Really, any activity you would like a companion for....I'm here! I'm ready!
If you think a long-legged beauty who has a second chance at life would be the perfect fit for your home, please apply today! www.tireddogrescue.org
Special Needs: Heartworm disease
We at Tired Dog Rescue strive to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners, and preserve current dog-family homes by seeking solutions to financial, behavioral, and situational dog problems. We believe the lives of homeless, abandoned and abused dogs are just as precious as dogs that currently have a loving home. We believe that all dogs deserve a loving home despite their age, medical condition and/or disabilities. We provide whatever medical care is needed regardless of cost. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations before being placed.
